| E39 520ia TRANS FAIL SAFE PROG
Hi, i need help, would be pleased to hear from experienced bmw users..
last week my car gave "TRANS FAIL SAFE PROG" message
when this error message occurs
1- R-D-N-1-2-3-4-5 Lights on the dashboard are gone...
2- when i get the stick to D position, car moves hardly and slowly with high rpms.
3- if i shut down the engine and wait for 5 minutes. car works fine for only 5-10 meters and gives the same error.
4- this error happened 3 times. i left the car for the night and next morning everything was fine.
5- when there is no error message, transmission works perfectly...
6- this error happened 3 times exactly same situations. drive the car for 30-50 minutes. park the car and wait 5 minutes (engine working N position). it gives TRANS FAIL SAFE PROG. this error never occured while im driving.
7- ASC light becomes active when this message comes...
after all this i left the car local bmw service. they told me that problem is about ABS. if i change the ABS Computer (i dont know the exact word, i guess you guys know what im talking about) problem will be solved.
bu my search on the net about this problem made me think about it. no one had this message because of ABS problem.
any advice?
