| I've done it with my car and wouldn't reccomend it. Mine had silver put on over the black and when I ripped it off there was so much glue and shit that hangs onto the overlay very tightly and doesn't strip off nicely. However I changed my center console to woodgrain (a dark, not flashy kind) and I'm sure it's not an overlay so you'll have to see. Either way, I wouldn't recommend it. If you don't like it, buy a used center console (I'm assuming you want black) it's like anywhere from $30-$60, so just remove the old one and install the new one.
