That's exactly what I ended up doing, after talking with matt over at theeurodepot.com (they're here in town) he said it's happened before, and if need be just weld the lolipop on. So I figured I would give it a shot before I went that route. The broken bolt came out without too much fuss with my extractor set. Then just cleaned up the threads with a tap which I've never done before, but after talking with one of the guys at sanels auto parts (who are the only people in town with metric taps) he gave me a quick run down on how to use it. All in all it went smoothly. I was even considering some pretty radical solutions like drilling and through bolting to the frame, or drilling in a helicoil, even having new nuts welded in.
