Apparently, no one knows for sure, but I suspect that your probability of success is low.

My first guess would be that the reason that there are fewer pins on the newer version is that they moved the thermometer to somewhere else in the air intake. If that guess is correct, then you would need to install a thermometer with the same resistance response as the one in the old MAF, and tap it in to the wiring harness.

If you are not absolutely certain that the problem is the MAF, then if the car still does not run well, you won't know whether the problem is your adaption of the other MAF, or there is an unrelated problem with the car.
