IMHO - If this is a car that you need to drive to work, you do not want to go anywhere near as far as the the extreme builder cars you see on Utube. Assuming that you have the money to reconstruct your engine with carefully balanced, ultralight, ultrastrong parts, the car you build will not be for transportation, or even for racing. It will be a hobby car. The guy with the most horses has bragging rights, but he probably has a totally stock car in his garage to get him to work to pay for the hobby car. If the hobby car makes it 10,000 miles between teardowns and major investments, you did a good job on it.

If this is your main/only ride, you probably want to do lots of homework, get good parts that are made to work together, and be prudent about your horsepower target.
