I read an article in Car and Driver a while back about the new 1 series that said (if i remember correctly) that it will be cheaper. Interestingly enough BMW claims that the 135i will have a 0-60 time of 5.3 seconds....hard to believe given the majority of 335i's run 0-60 times of 4.9.... Here is the link to the article in C&D.
