no the heater core assembly is not the same with digital and analog.. the heater core for the digital assembly contains all the motors to move the vents open and closes as the analog does not. The parts I bought was the digital climate controls, center vent (center vents in cars older than 95 have an electrical connector as the cars in 95+ do not) and I bought a used complete heater core assembly from a 96+ e36. The swap itself is plug and play however getting that heater core out and swapping it is a HUGE pain in the ass.
