yeah the article continued on to say that they own land rover, jag, volvo, etc...
but i think if ford sold off its own brand, just the domestic image of its beginning, would make the company look rediculous... plus, a lot of those "foreign" brands are fueled by guess and check research on they're crappier us domestic vehicles... i hear volvo penta engines are actually developed in the states...
anyways... this is actually kind of funny, because bmw actually contributed to the range rovers a while back, using bmw tuned engines and trannys, then they realized it was a bad idea and sold it back to ford... and its really funny to drive the different suvs from the switch (i worked for a jaguar/land rover dealer)
it could be good for bmw to buy volvo... volvo is actually a pretty well made car, they just don't have the greatest image in the states.... but once you go abroad, you see how popular they really are. if they were to acquire volvo, bmw would have more market share, and new technologies and researchers to contribute to bimmers too, really it could be cool
