Im in the process of removing my carpets and Im stuck trying to get the gas pedal out. I've tried looking in behind with a mirror and prying up with 2 pry bars and still nothing. Has anyone mastered a technique of getting the go fast pedal out WITHOUT breaking it

ALSO, has anyone here fully removed their carpets and if so how much of the dashboard did you dismantle. I have the center console out but Im looking at it and looks like I need to remove a lot of the HVAC stuff?!

PITA but its a must do because the car is going to be sandblasted and there are some nasty surprises awaiting me underneath that carpet.
