Can you return them for some good subs?

J/k

Although I am not a Kicker fan, I'll give you some advice.

First is the box. You need to figure out what kind of sound and performance you are looking for.

Once you've done that, figure the type (ported/sealed), and then figure out size of the box to get the sound you desire.

Once that is done, what are the power demands of the subs in this configuration (although they print power ratings on the sub specs, it varies depending on box size and type)

Now its time to find an amp in your budget. Get the most available power for the money. Overpower if possible, because you can always turn it down, when underpowering, you can't turn it up.

Underpowering runs the risk of clipping, which in turn causes heating and "blowing" of the voice coils.

Next figure the amperage requirements to run the amp and purchase the proper gauge wire to maximize performance. Also consider a capacitor or a replacement Battery to increase performance even more.

I highly recommend professional install, but if you want to do it yourself, make sure you know what you are doing, some manufacturers' warranties suck if you do it yourself and damage equipment during install or use.
