I have been saving 10K plus for an LS1 conversion to pass smog laws. If a turbo is still possible in Cali then I guess I can go that way instead and finally take my girlfriend somewhere nice with the extra $.
I don't know what it is about California. People say it's conservative but at the same time we seem to be run by hippies that cry about the air polution like little babies. You can barely get away with adding an intake these days. It's retarded.

There are ways to get around smog. For instance, there are cities in the boonies in Cali like Julian that have no smog laws. If you have a buddy that lives there or something you can register the car in Julian and have a legal race car. A guy told me about someone who did this just to prove that there are loopholes in the system. Another way is registering the car in another state that has no smog laws and drive with an out-of-state license. This is easy for guys that go to college in another state but are from here...or someone that has an investment property in that state...or you can lie and just put down a address that doesn't exist or you don't live at which the guy that used julian did to prove a point. They don't check that stuff cause they are way too busy.

There are other more illegal ways also but I don't condone it. Legally finding a loophole is the best anyway cause it's legal and you can say F-U!
