My 2002 530I is a steptronic, and I love it. While it takes just a bit to get used to, the no lift shifting is very slick.
Since this is a family car, the wife had to be able to drive it as well, and well, lets just say that a 5 speed is not her specialty. I needed a mix of both, auto and the option of manual. The 530I (still stock) gets on it quick, I have been very please with the steptronic.
