Painting black body trim the right way?

I have done searches and research galore and I can never get at straight answer.

The age old question of painting the textured trim.

the only thing that I have come up with is sanding, then wet sanding, and even then with the soft bumper plastic as soon as the primer goes on the burs of the sanding will come up like trees in a forest.

So does anyone have both comprehensive and time saving procedure, as well as the name of the polymer primer that adhears to that type of plastic.

I was going to buy the painted trim from a company and bypass the hassle but they no longer cover it.

Not to get off topic, but I read somwhere that you can buy smooth trim that is paint ready? please respond with part # if you have knowledge on this.

Thanks!
