I recently found a good deal on a 1982 745i (3500 cc. and turbo) and was wondering if its a good idea to buy it. I will end up spending about $3200. The car has had 4 owners, 350,000 miles, test drove it, heavy but smooth and exciting, my first bmw
. Any forseeable engine/transmission/electronics problems? I was thinking of getting it checked by a BMW dealer before I actually purchase it. The paint job on the car is still pretty good, but its not the color I wish it had (Comes with a light green and hoping to get it in red o black). So what do you guys think? What else should I check for now before spending $$ for a complete checkup at BMW... Any suggestion will be greatlly appreciated.
update: I mixed up on the convertion from kilometers to miles. It has 175000 miles, had the turbo redone, a new engine block was installed, and the transmission checked which worked just fine.
