My BMW just saved my life!!!

Well, I'm definitely a BMW lifer now. I just had an incident that was like out of one of those commercials where you see the person driving down the highway and out of control objects fall in the path of the car and the driver swerves and avoids what otherwise would have been a sure accident had it been any other car.

I was going down a 4 lane street, two lanes in one direction and two lanes in the other. I was in the right lane reserved for right turns, the lane closer to the center line was stopped by a light and trucks were lined up one after the other, effectively blocking the line of sight for the traffic travelling in the opposite direction.

As we drive pass the stopped trucks a car bumper appears between them (lining me up for the old T-Bone). I swerve to the right to avoid him (quickly adopting the 10-2 steering methodology) and then swerve back to the left to avoid the fast approaching curb. I then had to swerve again to the right to avoid plowing into the row of trucks. This all happened in the blink of an eye and to the BMW's credit, I never heard the tires, the brakes didn't lock up (go ABS) and the ass held firm with all that movement from left to right at approximately 40-45 miles per hour.

My friend riding in the passenger seat thought we had to have some damage, but were too shocked to realize it. We stopped the car and did the inspection , Nothing !! Unbelievable, wish I could see the incident from a different perspective, I'm sure all the onlookers were just as amazed that we didn't wipe out and eat curb !!
