yes, but the idea isnt to use the brakes so hard on the street that they glow red hot when you park it
also M3some, the M3 wouldnt be a good first car. Its one hell of a car, very forgiving but still a lot to handle. Im not syaing he cant handle it, obviously I never saw this person drive but a high powered car is NOT a good car for beginners. My buddy for instance, he has a camaro but a V6 instead of a SS. Why? because he knows he would wind up wrapping it around a telephone pole. The V6 actually is a pretty quick car.
