| You can say no to the cop, in your case you said "feel free to search it" therefore you LET the cop search your car, doesn't matter if he found anything or not. When I got pulled over for reckless driving the cop asked to search my car, I said NO and the cop said ok and just gave me my ticket and left. If you don't want the cop searching your car then don't tell him he can!
