128i / 135i

So 128i's engine is comparable to 328i.
135i's engine is comparable to 335i.

328i = $(usd) 32,400 / 128i = $(usd) 28,600
335i = $(usd) 40,800 / 135i = $(usd) 34,900


the difference ofcourse the price and: 3's are bigger and heavier.
1's are newer, smaller and funkier?



i just bought a 2005 325i sedan (sport package) very good
price, very low miles. but i saw the 1.
thought of trading it for a 128i is it worth it?

need an opinion.

I love my 128i, but if you're looking for all out performance, the 135i is the best way to go. I think personally the 1 series looks better than the 3, or at least it looks as good as the E46 3ers looked, but that's just me

I think the 1 series is the perfect modern idea of an E30 both in design and concept. I love the look it's 'cheeky' I like that.

Go the 1 series anyday. My my eyes the 1 series should be the new 3 series and the new E90/2 range should be called the 4 series.

I like the design of the 1 series but definitly not for that price. I think they should drop the price by $5000 than it would be something to be tempting. For that little margin I'd just take a 3 series.

I think all beamers are expensive, personally.... But then again, I DID just graduate college and haven't quite gotten a GREAT job yet....

HOWEVER, they are still worth it to me if the reliability is still decent. Plus it is just so darned good looking!!!

I feel the 135 is worth the extra money. Based just on performance numbers the 135 is awesome. If you plan on modding your car, the 135 is tuners dream. A simple chiptune will give you close to 400bhp. Also, it is fairly light and nimble and you can almost guarantee that aftermarket support for the 1-series will increase drastically through the years. If it was my money, I would buy a base 135i in a heartbeat and go to town.

Agreed! I'm not so worried about tuning it though.... I just want a fun car that I don't have to mess with. I'd go with the 128i....

Actually the new 1 series was built to bring back the luster of the 2002 but yes I think it's more like the E30's.
